Gary Marshall, former Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, started his career in retail estate management back in the ‘80s, specialising in tenant-occupier roles with large national retailers including NEXT (still with us!) and Woolworths (sadly not!).
For the past decade he has been a consultant for major national retailers, encouraging a deep-dive investigation of the gap between estates management and accounts payable along with other back-office functions and support. His business, SmarterEstates LLP, has clawed back many millions in misplaced credits and mis-claimed arrears, representing a direct upside to the bottom line.
Recognising the need to mentor and guide current and new generations of estates management professionals in this specific and vital area, Gary has launched his podcast to share his knowledge with a broad audience. His goal? To persuade retailers to organise their estates and accounts teams as effectively as possible.
